Cusano Corojo Featured in Robb Report

The luxury lifestyle magazine, Robb Report featured the Cusano Corojo in their ‘Front Runners: Select Smoke’ in May 2005. Please find the entire article for your reading pleasure below:

Although the spicy, flavorful leaf of corojo tobacco helped build Cuba’s reputation as the maker of the world’s finest cigars, the country abandoned the plant in the 1990s because it had become too costly for the impoverished nation to cultivate. However, enterprising growers smuggled corojo seeds out of Cuba and have since crossbred them with more robust tobaccos. The leaf they created is reminiscent of the finest plants from Cuba’s past. One of our favorite cigars made from the new breed is the Cusano Corojo, which features a beautiful 1997 corojo wrapper from Ecuador. The 7 x 50 Churchill is powerful enough to follow a Falstaffian steak-and-Scotch binge yet smooth enough to smoke any time of day.
